Time demands the fight against the different variants of COVID-19. Antibodies are only observed as solutions by scientists. Vaccines were expected one step ahead in these regards. A new study published in Nature on 8th March revealed the escaping nature of new variants (UK and South Africa) of COVID-19 virus against vaccines of Moderna or Pfizer. Recently generated variant of Brazil is not studied. Mutations in virus may divert the signaling pattern of antibodies generated after vaccination. So, the most important part is breaking the link for spreading the mutations. Still, studies are required to cross the changes in responses of individual physiological bodies against COVID-19 and its variants. Differing responses are related to genes and, genetic impacts are already studied as core factor in adaptive immunity involving lymphocytes like T-cells and B-cells. These cells work through specific receptors recognizing pathogens-derived antigens. Responses depend upon the signaling pattern, length of nucleotide and, attachment with specific receptor.

Number of phytochemicals have exhibited intervening the signaling pattern to regulate the gene expression. They also have been shown as inhibitory agent for various viral spikes through modulation of specific receptors. Even plantibodies (antibodies developed in plants through culture and various other techniques) are hope to combat with corona viruses. Plants with these phytochemicals are suggested in Ayurveda for antimicrobial effects. Pharmacological mechanisms are still to be explored.

Another options from Ayurveda is meditation. Indian ancient texts have shown the impacts of meditation in controlling various diseases. Epigenetic effects of meditation have been shown by various workers. Even, it can impact gene expression. The level of changes cannot be generalized, as it totally depends upon one’s ability to meditate in proper way. Therefore, only differential impacts are noted. This is foremost in the pathophysiology of COVID-19 associated with cardiac injury, coronary artery diseases etc. where direct involvement of neurochemicals are present. Hence, to fight the COVID-19, a multi-armed approach is needed.
