The International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) announced on 11 February 2020 the name of new virus as ‘severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Viruses are autonomous infectious complexes consisting of protein and RNA or DNA genome.
