Abstract: Background:Music, a part of human activity is succession of ordered tones to produce a composition. It is systematically arranged rhythmic patterns of sound waves. The effects of these waves on human health are well studies by various researchers. Studies also highlight the system-wise specific effect. Different settings and types of music are used by therapists for desired actions in reference to cases.
Effects on Different Systems: Brain is important and prime organ involving all other organs directly or indirectly for effects of music. It is associated with cognitive functions, emotions, memory enhancements through various mode of actions. Increase in â-endorphins in relation to pain managemnt is noted.
Conclusion: Music is frequently used in different clinical settings for release of pain, improving the mood and faster recovery from various surgery. Few studies have highlighted the mode of action or mechanism, still detailed researches are required to fin the effect of music at cellular and tissue level.
