Abstract: Background: Impacts of planets on everyone’s life is matter of study in astrology. Number of theories are generated in favor of these aspects. Formation and effects of electromagnetic on brain is one of them, enough to frame and affect specific psychology. Some planets, their relation with specific houses and conjunctions with malefic and benefic are considered while studying minutely. Strength of planets and their impacts on specific part of body are main in medical astrology to understand the cases. Present study is based on a case study schizophrenia.
Materials and Methods: Astro-chart of one subject was made using online application. Astrological aspects in connection to planets, zodiac signs, impacts on various houses were studied.
Result: Lagna of the person was Pisces. Sun, Moon and Mercury were present in Lagna. A conjunction of Mars, Rahu and Saturn was present in fourth house from the Lagna and lord of this house was present in Lagna.
Discussion and Conclusion: A conjunction of Sun, Moon and Mercury reveals the impacts of Sun to affect Moon completely and Mercury partially. Moon is important for emotional balance. The fourth house from Lagna is having conjunction of Mars, Saturn and Rahu and Lagna is in tenth house from Saturn. Impacts of Saturn and its conjunction with Rahu and Mars cause psychological disorder as schizophrenia was noted.
Keywords: Medical astrology, schizophrenia, case-study, Lagna, Sun, Mercury, Moon Saturn, Rahu, Mars………..

The traditional perceptions for the effects of lunar and solar phases are connected to emotions is based on tides for common men1,2. It cannot be generalized. Still, the impacts based on energy level is matter of study. Diversified forms of energy are directly related to living organisms. A greater portion of energy is utilized by brain of human beings for metabolic processes related to cognitive functions3. Studies connected to gravitropism, phototropism etc. have been proven for plants in relation to force and energy. Specific colors are connected to absorption and emission of energy4. These colors are usually used in astrology. However, concerns of energy with astrology is still to be revealed.
All planets radiate energy to their surroundings5. Such radiations form a range of electromagnetic field6. However, earth’s atmosphere protects organic bodies from exposure of higher energy waves, still some of them trapped by concentric rings of earth7,8. Rapid changes in geomagnetic field occurs at very low intensity9. Such trapped energy at the time of birth with specific angle of orientation is studied in Vedic astrology to predict the life-events. Interactions between cellular system and non-thermal electromagnetic field have been demonstrated10. This also bring changes in chemical composition and genes10. A study shows that prenatal irradiation caused increased in motor activities of rats11. Even, increase of anxiety in irradiated female rats were also observed11. Evidences are also available to sow the prenatal radiation-associated reduction in head and chest circumference12. Perinatal (before and after birth) exposure to sunlight is important factor for behavioral response13. Behavior is reflection of mind in connection to environment. The word, Mana or Manas is used in Ayurveda for mind14.

Manas is as an instrument through that thoughts are generated. It is said to be as Sattva, one of tripod of living being15. Appearance of everything before anyone is due to the imagination of Manas16. This is synonymous to Chitta4. Active state of Manas is connected to Karma or action17. It means physical activity is revelation of Manas and its activity that leads to consciousness of self and ego18. Manas means psyche of an individual. Apart from the inheritance, various factors like age, experiences, family, culture, expectations, environments etc. affect the psyche of an individual. Still, screenings of other factors are required as effects of rays on psychology and related disorders. One of them is astrology.
The astrological aspects for the effects energy from any planets on psychology is based on proper mathematical calculations in relation to acquaintance of body with various coordinates and effects of those planetary energies at the time of birth. The perfection of psychological interpretation is based on accuracy of horoscope. A small mistake at any place may bring the changes in predictions. So, one case study is opted to understand the psyche and a psychological disorder (schizophrenia) to understand from astrological points of view.
2. Materials and Methods
Astro-chart of one subject was made using application of Drik Panchang. Astrological aspects were crossed in relation to planets, zodiac signs and houses specific for psychological and mental development. Awastha of planets, planetary periods and transitory periods were prominently observed. Consent of subject was not taken because subject died. As he was divorced and was not having any son or daughter, so no one was consulted. But, care was taken to not to disclose the name of person, name of related institute or time, so that no one could have legitimate challenge. As the purpose of study was academic, so it could be useful in scientific discernment of astrological aspects with health point of view.

Discussion and Conclusion: The lunar zodiac sign of Jataka (person/native) is Pisces. This is sign of higher degree of emotion. In case of affliction, emotional imbalance, psychic problems, weaken immune system or metabolic disorders are possible. Moon is present in conjunction with Sun and Mercury in first house. Sun is lord of fifth house. The fifth house is connected to higher education. The lord of fifth house in Lagna adds to personality through higher education. Conjunction of Moon with Sun shows the day of birth on Amavasya. This also indicates inability of Moon to provide complete fruit being in conjunction with Sun. Moon is also of fifth house (house of judgement). Aspect of malefic to Moon results in wrong judgement related to emotion resulting in diseases. However, the conjunction of Sun and Moon provides determination. Still, Moon is weaker than Sun, so chances of metabolic disorders or psychological problem or immune related problem is there. Sun is related with pitta while Moon is having Kapha property. Pitta generated by Sun is connected to immune system and resistance to diseases. Moon type of Kapha is associated with vital fluids, plasma and mucus. The place of Sun and Moon, both are head, so problems in case of adverse effects of these during specific planetary period is located to head. Another planet in Lagna is Mercury. However, it is debilitated in Pisces, still it gives good communicative power. Mercury is on 6° 44’55″. Based on awastha in odd and even zodiac sign, it is in vriddhawastha. This awastha provides the mercury to experience the situations based on conditions and to acquire lots of knowledge. It is almost 12° away from the Sun, so it is not completely combust and is still giving result. Mercury is related to mentality, rationality, perception, capacity of communication in terms of speech and education. Mercury is attached to Vata. This type Vata is generated from Pitta or due to less or more secretions of specific or related biochemical. The place of mercury is attached to neck, so bronchial connections are also added.
Mars is present in fourth in conjunction with Saturn and Rahu. This conjunction usually gives negative effects to the house. This conjunction aspect to 10th house from Lagna, i.e., house of Karma. The person was diagnosed with schizophrenia in his early 30th. Schizophrenia is characterized by emotional thinking, personality changes, hallucinatory paranoid, catatonia, reduced energy potential, dementia etc.20 In case of schizophrenia, dopamine abnormalities occur in the mesolimbic and prefrontal brain regions21, 22. The glutamatergic functions are also affected22. Mars is fourth house. It gives the native a sharp mind. But, Mars is related to Pitta. This Pitta is related to chemical secretions and acid secretions in body. Alteration in secretions of such Pitta is connected to aggravated Vata. Saturn and Rahu results in Vata disease of brain resulted from imbalance of neurochemicals (due to Mars). Lagna being in 10th house from this conjunction, Saturn has aspect on this house. Both Saturn and Rahu causes imbalance of neurotransmitters resulting in tremors and related nervous disorders. Saturn and Rahu in conjunction. Rahu is responsible for psychic or maniac diseases, if aspect to ascendant in combination with Saturn or Mars. Direct aspect to ascendant by Rahu is not there, but it can be observed either through Saturn or through lord of ascendant.
Lord of ascendant is eighth house from Lagna. Eighth house denotes blood disorder. So, blood-based biomarkers as neurochemistry, inflammation and immune function, brain-derived neurotrophic factor, oxidative stress response and metabolism, epigenetics, transcriptome and proteome studies are done23. Being lord being in this reduces the vitality and healing capacity. The ninth house along with Jupiter and Sun affects psychology. The lord ninth house from Lagna, is Mars. It is in conjunction with Saturn and Rahu, resulting in psychological problems. Schizophrenia is disconnection or splitting of psychic functions24.
Death of this native happened in hospital. For death, Maraka planet and time can be understood. Usually lords of second house and seventh house is called as Maraka planets. When Saturn is related to Maraka planets, Saturn itself becomes Maraka by absorbing effects of those planets. Rahu becomes Maraka, if it is placed in 1st, 7th, 8th or 12th house or it is in the 7th from a Maraka lord, or placed with such planets, they get the power of killings in their planetary period or sub-period. In taken case study, lords of second house and seventh house are respectively Mars and Mercury. Mars is in conjunction with Rahu and Saturn. So, for this person Rahu and Saturn both becomes Maraka. The person died during Rahu Mahadasha, Guru Antar Dasha, Rahu Pratyantar Dasha, Mangal Sukshma Dasha and Shani Prana Dasha. A minute study on each element of native’s astro-chart may give details of other life-activities with timings.
Many other such studies are required from other disorders point of views. For learning, any native can be selected with known birth details to make astro-chart and with complete life-details already occurred.
